Towns We Cover
We're based in Humble, so the towns around it are an easy trip for our crew. Close in, we work in Atascocita, Crosby and Highlands. To the south we cover Channelview, Cloverleaf, Galena Park and Jacinto City. We take jobs in Aldine and Spring too, and we'll drive north as far as Shenandoah.
If your town isn't on the list, ask anyway. The job matters more to us than the mileage. We'll tell you on the phone whether it makes sense for us to come out, and if it doesn't, we'll say so.
What's True About Floors Around Here
- 01
Slab foundations
Most homes in this area sit on a concrete slab, and that shapes your options. Solid hardwood nailed down isn't a fit on slab, so we look at engineered hardwood, vinyl plank, tile or laminate glued or floated over it. Before anything goes down, we check the slab for flat spots and moisture. A low spot or a damp slab is what makes a floor click, sound hollow or cup a year later.
- 02
Heat and humidity
Summers run long and the air stays wet. Wood and laminate move with that. We let the material sit in your home before install and leave the right gap at the walls so the floor has room. Vinyl and tile handle humidity better, which is why they show up so often in kitchens, baths and laundry rooms here.
- 03
Storms and water
Heavy rain and tropical storms come with living near the Gulf. If a room has taken water before, tell us. We'll check what's underneath and lay out your options, including materials that hold up better if it happens again. We can explain how floor claims usually go with insurance, but your adjuster makes the call.
- 04
Older and newer homes
Homes from the 1970s and '80s sit near subdivisions built in the last few years. Older ones often have old vinyl, tile or glue under the carpet that has to come up first. Newer ones usually have builder-grade carpet ready to swap. Removal and prep move the price as much as the new floor does.
- 05
Permits and HOAs
Swapping floor covering usually doesn't need a city permit, but rules differ by town, so we check. Plenty of neighborhoods here have an HOA, and some set work hours or say where a trailer can park. Tell us the rules and we'll plan the job around them.
